TARDY CHECK-INS/EARLY CHECK-OUTS
A child should check out for illness, doctor appointments and verifiable emergencies only. A valid excuse for a late check-in or early check-out must be presented to the school. The lack of a valid excuse will result in a grade of “0” being assigned to missed work. Students may not be checked out after 3:10 p.m. After this time, parents must pick them up in the car rider line.
Students will be allowed to call home to ask for forgotten items if it is deemed important by the Principal. Parents will be called by school personnel if students are ill or for other emergencies. If your child has a medical condition that may result in frequent calls, please inform the teacher and office.
No phone calls or bus notes to change a child’s transportation procedure will be accepted. Please make arrangement for your child to be picked up if they are not to ride the same bus they came to school on. If there are special conditions please call the principal and explain what the conditions are and plans will be made for that special condition. That condition must be of a serious nature. Bus switching for parent convenience is not allowed.
Please call in the morning to request work for your child’s makeup work. It may be picked up after 2:00 p.m.
Emergency information forms must be completed and returned. Two additional emergency numbers with home phone number must be provided. If your requested information changes during the year, please contact the school immediately.
All visitors must check in at the school office for a visitor’s pass. All business must be school related and no one can just simply visit around the school. All parent conferences must be pre-arranged. Because of liability parents cannot visit classrooms. No one will be allowed in classrooms unless hired by or authorized by the Livingston Parish School Board. THIS IS LIVINGSTON PARISH SCHOOL BOARD POLICY.
No preschoolers are allowed to attend field trips. Students must have signed permission slips in order to check out from a field trip before coming back to school.
